Part Development Engineering Partners

Ben Machine’s specialized team of experts partner with your design and quality engineers for prototyping and part development. We engage in open discussions with your team to gather valuable design for manufacturability input. This collaboration enables Ben Machine to improve its process failure effect mode analysis (PFEMA), building a robust process for our high precision, tight tolerance work. The ability to identify improvements in cost, lead times and part quality prior to the start of the first article delivers an optimized part, price, and process when the part arrives at your facility.

Ben Machine’s specialists can also create a part starting from a customer’s statement or scope of work. From the clear specifications of your company’s design engineers, Ben Machine’s experts develop parts to spec and optimized for the manufacturing process.

Manufacturing Excellence

Ben Machine’s manufacturing experts and CNC programmers are engaged with cutting edge electronic tools. This software streamlines workflow minimizing time and potential errors.

They start by building our process models in CAD. That file is imported into CAM, allowing programming to be done in advance of the part being set up. This reduces the machine downtime and set up costs. It also creates more capacity on the machines for producing final parts. CAM programmers can optimize programs creating quick CNC cycle times. Our first part yield rate is high because of developing a part in the digital factory.

The programmer and machinist can identify issues with the program before a cut is made on a part. The CAD is used to program our Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The continuity of the one base file reduces time and the risk of errors.

Virtual Factory

Ben Machine’s early and regular investments in software creates a near virtual factory. Electronically we can simulate a part moving through our facility clearly planning how it will be produced and inspected.

Utilizing an electronic Quality Management System (QMS) controls the information flow through engineering and operations. The CAD are the glue of the system. With a part developed in CAD, programmed in CAM, Ben Machine’s quality software validates those measurements. Electronically, Ben Machine can visualize a part from raw material to packaging. All efforts for risk reduction are made before an atom is removed for the part. Ben Machine’s expectational first yield success rate accelerates our customer’s development schedules.

When it comes to producing your parts, the exceptional human capital of our machinists is the key component. They produce the part, inspect the part for conformance, and document the results. Their knowledge and experience making incremental changes on the precision CNC machines further improve the cycle times and quality of the parts they produce.
